FAIR - the directory of FAIths Resources for South Warwickshire

Faith based organisations provide a vital range of services to their local communities. The purpose of the web based Directory is to identify the range of Churches, Chapels, Temples, Gurdwaras and other faith based buildings offering a wide spectrum of local services to their community as well as newcomers, visitors, tourists, and people looking to join or offer volunteer time. Community groups are often focused in Church Halls and vary enormously from Cubs and Scouts to Older Peoples' Lunch Clubs, from Mums and Toddler Groups to Bell Ringers, and from Gardening to Yoga and Karate classes. Also, there will be some faith based groups associated with the particular location such as Sunday Schools, Youth Study Groups, Mothers Union, Alpha Courses, Choirs and Fellowship Groups.

The Directory will also help with valuable income generation for venues by advertising the availability of meeting space for clubs and organisations, for events which hire the facilities, e.g. elections, children's parties, weddings, etc. It will also help groups regularly using the buildings to publicise their activities eg. Macmillan Coffee Mornings or Health Visitor Sessions, promote social enterprises like a Community Café; or a Fair Trade Shop. You may wish to highlight an innovative idea which others could support eg. Use as a community internet site, drug or alcohol rehabilitation advice sessions, use of sustainable energy source for heating, or by providing a hub for local services like prescription collection in isolated rural areas or welfare advice.

FAIR...The Faiths Resources Directory for South Warwickshire will form part of a unique web based bank of information linking faith and community based facilities across the area. This is another totally free service brought to you on behalf of your local Council for Voluntary Service.
