What
is the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP)?
The LSP is
a partnership of a range of agencies within the public, private,
voluntary and community sectors across Warwick District –
who propose to harmonise their strategies action plans to develop
and deliver a ‘Community Strategy’ for Warwick District.
The
Partnership will consist of:
1. The LSP Board (to lead the strategy)
2. The LSP Action Team (to advise the Board, and co-ordinate
operational matters)
3. Steering Groups (themed according to priority action areas
– currently Health and Well-being; Leisure and Culture;
Environment/Transport; Housing; Community Learning; Community
Safety; Economic Development).
Why is the LSP important
for the voluntary and community sectors?
The proposed LSP arrangements give the voluntary and community
sectors a leading role in the development and delivery of community
strategies in Warwick District – we will make up half the
places on the LSP Board!
This
gives us a real opportunity –
To have a say in the formulation of local priorities
To have a say as to how resources are allocated
To hold statutory bodies accountable for their actions
To see our contribution to the delivery of local priorities
recognised
To ensure the principles of the Warwickshire COMPACT are followed
throughout the working of the LSP
To work together with each other, and with partners in the public
and private sectors, to improve the quality of life living and
working in Warwick District
How
can voluntary and community groups get involved in the LSP?
Voluntary and Community groups can get involved
with the LSP through:
1. Being Kept informed through a variety of communication channels
2. Joining LSP networks, forums and steering groups
3. Raising issues with the voluntary and community sector representatives
on the LSP Board (See Composition
of LSP Board)
4. Being elected to the LSP Board (Download
Community Representative Job Description)
How
can we get the most out of the LSP?
To get the most out of the LSP, we need to work
together. Time each of us spend going to partnership meetings
is often time we could be spending on our ‘jobs’.
If we work together, we might be able to achieve more while committing
less time.
