INFORMATION FOR
APPLICANTS
Funds have been
made available by the Warwick District Locality Joint Finance
Group for a Training Bursary Scheme, administered by CVS –
Warwick District.
The Bursary Scheme
is intended to enable organisations to apply for funds to:
a) send staff,
volunteers or members of their Management Committee on relevant
training courses (see areas of training supported below) provided
locally, regionally, or nationally with subsidies up to a
total cost of £300.
b) buy in training
from a local, regional or national provider, specifically
for their organisation or group, again with specific areas
of training supported, and with up to 100% subsidy available,
to a maximum of £300.
NB. Applications
may include inclusion of a proportion of the grant (no more
than 50%) being used to remove barriers to training of people
who would otherwise be excluded. E.g. reimbursement of up
to 75% of travel costs or crèche costs.
Areas of Training
Supported
1. Equal Opportunities
(for example race, gender, disability, sexual orientation)
2. Good practice
and Management (e.g. teamwork, committee skills, staff development,
working with volunteers, user involvement, monitoring and
evaluation, PQASSO and/or other Quality Assurance etc.)
3. Social and Health
Care (e.g. independent living skills, working with elderly
people, day care activities, interpreter/language courses,
counselling skills etc.)
4. Personal Development
(e.g. assertiveness, time management, stress management, communication
skills, counselling etc.)
5. Accredited or
certificate courses (e.g. First Aid, Health and Safety, Food
Hygene etc.)
Funding Priorities
Priority will be
given to small, locally managed, user led organisations operating
within Warwick District Council area. Funding will be used
to benefit all sections of the local community and applications
from black and ethnic minority groups, for instance, are encouraged.
Frequency of Applications
Only one application
at a time will be considered from any group or individual.
No group to submit more than two applications in any financial
year.
Application Process
Please complete
the application
form and return it to CVS – Warwick District as
detailed on the form. Assistance with completing the form
is available from CVS if needed.
All applications
will be considered by the CVS Board of Trustees and will be
notified by CVS – Warwick District. The Board of Trustees
meets approximately every 2 months.
Monitoring
Organisations in
receipt of bursaries for training are requested to inform
CVS what difference the training has made to the organisation
within 6 months of the training taking place.
Individuals in
receipt of bursaries will not normally be asked to provide
feedback, unless there are exceptional circumstances to their
application.
